When you have wisdom or molars pulled, what are the white thin looking dashes that you look at in your mouth?

where the teeth used to be? Am I looking at stitches or bone...using a mirror and a flashlight?

Sounds like stitches. If it's bothering you, you dentist can trim them for you. Or they come off on their own. Try not to touch it too much with your tongue. =)
